Michael Collins was an Irish revolutionary, soldier, and politician who was a leading figure in the early-20th century Irish struggle for independence. Born 16 October 1890 Woodfield, County Cork, Ireland. He was assassinated on the 22 August 1922 (aged 31) in Béal na Bláth, County Cork, Ireland.
